Jackson Ticket-Holders Told: ‘Receive Refund Or Keep Ticket As Souvenir’

Fans who shelled out for Michael Jackson’s scrapped London dates have been told they can receive a full refund - or a collectable concert pass.

Around 750,000 people rushed to buy tickets when the concerts were announced, and have since been told they have until August 14th to claim their money back or receive one of the special passes, which feature a dancing hologram and were “inspired and designed by Michael Jackson”.

Promoters AEG said details would be provided at the website MichaelJacksonLive.com from Wednesday.

As well as the collectible pass idea, AEG are also planning to recoup their losses with a DVD of Jackson’s final rehearsal, as well as a possible ‘star-studded’ tribute concert at the O2 arena.

Would you want your £150 back, or a not-that-limited piece of Jackson memorabilia? See the ‘collectable’ here:

Jackson Rescues Black Eyed Peas’ Glastonbury Set

Black Eyed Peas managed to win over an unimpressed Glastonbury crowd with a medley of Michael Jackson hits, reports Contact Music.

BEP took to the stage on Sunday and immediately got off on the wrong foot when frontman Will.I.Am shouted “Hello London!”

The crowd - located a good two hours from London, FYI - began to boo but were eventually won over by the band’s versions of Jackson’s ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’ and ‘Thriller’.

Will.I.Am, who had recently been recording with Jackson, told the audience: “Michael Jackson was like the biggest inspiration of my life. He was a friend and we’re gonna miss him very much. Thank you very much for all you’ve done, I’m gonna miss you.”

Glasto Boss Eavis Pays Headliner Springsteen’s Fine After ‘Spectacular’ Curfew Breach

Michael Eavis

Michael Eavis will personally pay a £3000 fine incurred by Glastonbury headliner Bruce Springsteen after the rocker exceeded his set by nine minutes.

Eavis has said he doesn’t mind whether he is reimbursed, as the over-run was “spectacular”. He told reporters at the event:

“I gave him 10 minutes and he took nine. I’ll pay the fine - £3,000. Paul McCartney - 2004 headliner - paid me back. I’m going to pay the Bruce Springsteen one myself. It’s not a lot because it was fantastic. The last nine minutes were spectacular.

“There are limits because a lot of people live nearby and it is right that things draw to a close at a reasonable hour. Each year we get only a handful of complaints about noise.”
