It just never ends for Britney
An LA judge has upheld charges against Britney Spears stemming from a driving incident in 2007.
Spears hit a car (with her car, you understand, not with an umbrella) but left without notifying the owner. She was originally charged for hit-and-run as well as driving without a valid license, though the hit-and-run charge has since been dropped.
Spears’ lawyers tried to argue that her driving license was unfairly scrutinized because of her celebrity status, but the judge disagreed: new California residents have 10 days to apply for the correct State license, and Britney was caught without hers 17 months after moving in. Oops.
The case is likely to go to trial later in the year. Hopefully when she puts her hand on the Bible and reads her name out to the court, she will look the judge in the eye and say:
‘It’s Britney, bitch.’
