ROBBIE WILLIAMS ENDS STRIKE. MAY RELEASE NON-ALIEN ALBUM NEXT YEAR.

Robbie WilliamsRobbie Williams has ended his strike with record label EMI and hopes to release a new album next year, his manager has revealed.

Williams went on ‘album strike’ in January when EMI was taken over by private equity company Terra Firma.

But Williams’ manager, Tim Clark, said the singer had been back in the studio for a while, working on a follow-up to 2006’s poorly-received ‘Rudebox’.

Clark said: “I would certainly hope that a new album will be coming next year. There are never any guarantees but that’s what we would hope.”

Clark told BBC Newsbeat that he had heard some of Williams’ new material last week.

“He’s been writing and we heard some wonderful stuff. I was with Robbie last week. He was at home and he was writing songs and he played some of them to us.”

Clark also denied reports that Williams’ new album would be about his recent obsession - aliens.  Click here and here to discover his extra-terrestrial thoughts.
